Happy Birthday Bruce

Happy Birthday Bruce!

Singing along to 'Cover me'. Album: Born in the USA

I just changed my nose ring from a stud to a hoop, I adore it.

Poison Ring

Hat: Target. Shirt: BDG, Urban Outfitters. Pants: Levis jeggings, Kohls. Lipstick: MAC Via Glam 1. Lip Pencil: MAC Burgundy. Shoes: Thrifted.

Happy 63rd birthday to my absolute favorite rocker, Bruce Springsteen! In honor of Bruce's birthday I spent all morning taking photos and listening to Born in the USA and Darkness on the Edge of Town. It's been a really nice relaxing Sunday. I actually had time to have coffee this morning in my awesome Springsteen mug. I found the mug at this super cool record store in San Mateo called Vinyl Solutions Records. It's a great neighborhood record shop that I strongly recommend checking out if you are in the area. I saw the mug behind the counter and walked up to it and pointed and said "how much is that?" and the owner of the shop, which I didn't know at the time, said "Oh, are you a boss fan?" "You have no idea," I told him. He then proceeded to tell me that Bruce's mom used to be on the leasing board for the Hillsdale Mall, which is up the street from my house, and that she came in his store before! Then he said something a long the lines of "Actually, hold on." And naturally, I got way too excited and said "What do you have back there! What are you getting?" (I mean, I had no idea what jewel he was going to pull out from back there!) He came out with not one, but two posters from Bruce's Born in the USA tour from Germany back in the 80's. AND THEN he said he would sell them both to me for $15 dollars. SOLD! It was a great coincidence because I had been looking for a good Born in the USA poster for my room, but had yet to find one and was losing hope, but now I have two. So needless to say it's always good to confess to record store owners how much you love the boss :).

Here's a little Instagram photo of the poster until I post a better one!

So I decided to switch up hats today. This one is a new one that I got from Target. I am still getting used to it, but I am excited to wear it to the Bluegrass festival in October in San Francisco! I feel like it will be the perfect addition to the weekend! The shoes are thrifted (some that Kelty found for me) they are so nice, I just hope the more I wear them the more comfortable they will become! And the pants are jeggings, one of my least favorite words but that is what they are, from Levis, and they are super comfortable.

My ring is from an antique store in San Jose. Kelty and I each got one, hers is a nice blue/green color. The sales associate told us they were poison rings and I instantly got an image of a queen attempting to poison her king. They are the grandest best friend rings ever, of course we would own them. Kelty, told me the other day when I was wearing it, "It doesn't matter what you are wearing that ring makes you look like a sophisticated bitch."
Yes, yes it does. :)
